Rubric for Online Instruction: James A. Gottlieb

Without getting into highly specific granular detail about the various design elements, I plan to use this rubric (behaviorally anchored rating scale) as a road map / job aid at the early stages of design to guide my staff as to the major categories and best practices to consider when they design online instruction. I will also plan to use this rubric as a teaching tool to help me develop my staff who are new to online instruction. Finally, I will use this rubric to evaluate and recommend enhancements to the online instruction that my staff design.

Hummmmm. As an afterthought, I will also use this rubric as a roadmap to design the DE course project that I’m putting together for this EDTEC 700 course. This rubric will help me to focus on the major categories and provide me with a means to self-evaluate my ideas before deciding on a specific course of action.
