Rubric for Online Discussion

Some of the ways this rubric can be implemented into a Distance Course design is by:
Learner Support and Resource: Providing an abundant amount of information so the learners are knowledgeable about the course and well aware of what to expect as well as what's being expected from them. This will help comfort and prepare them for what's to come. Plus a few links to a variety of tutorials that will offer additional information if need be. That way the learners will be able to learn on their own if they choose to explore the course at a further boundary.
Instructional Design and Delivery: Using a simple tutorial of a step by step video for the learner to get the basic concept of what's being taught will be key, but also an explanation of what and how to accomplish each task will be available as well. This will offer variety for the learner's approach.
Innovative Teaching with Technology: As said before, giving the learner the choice of which approach they would like to learn with will be available. Through text or video will be the two options because some people learn better reading directions or by following along.
Online Organization and Design: Keeping the course simple will be important to make things easier for the learners. A directory will be set at the top of the website so learners will easily be able to navigate their way around as well as a menu with key links and specific pages set on the side for effortless routing.
Assessment and Evaluation of Student Learning: Having a section for evaluation is always important in improving one's skills. Getting as much feedback will be vital in logging the progress of the learners as it will be used to see what their strengths and weaknesses are. After every session the learner will fill out a brief evaluation.
Faculty Use of Student Feedback: This is just as important as the evaluation. It will be used in updating the course with content and better structure. This will be made mandatory to fill out in order to complete the course by filling out a simple questionnaire.
