Mini-Analysis: Final Cut

Editing footage into a video is a hobby of mine. It can be very time consuming, especially if you don't know how to use the software. I can recall times of frustration when I wanted to do a certain effect or a simple edit, but ended up making it much more difficult than it should've been. Efficiency is the key here so for this very reason I surveyed people who had an interest in editing footage with a program called Final Cut.

What types of questions did you include in your survey?
1. Have you ever used Final Cut Express/Pro before?
2. Do you have access to Final Cut and the necessary equipment to edit with?
3. What do you want to create with your footage?
4. Who is your audience?
5. Would a Distance Education course be helpful to you or do you prefer online tutorials at your own pace?

How many people took your survey?
Five

What did you find out from your mini-analysis?
The findings from my mini-analysis resulted in most people having similar answers, except for number three and four. With different intentions of the final outcome of their footage, there are different techniques to be taught so that they may perform them.

How can you use this information to help design your course?
I will use this information to target the necessities for the interviewees in creating their own videos. In turn this helps me narrow down what I should focus on teaching them and what I can briefly touch base on.
