1. When I think of "Distance Education," the first thing that comes to mind are online videos and tutorials through the Internet. I didn't realize that the radio was the first tool educators used to teach at a distance, but after reading this article it doesn't seem very surprising. Maybe it's because of this class that got me thinking this way, but like all new inventions, people will take advantage of them to create new and intriguing ways of using them.

2. With Florida having the first virtual state funded school, they've opened the doors to millions of kids 7-12. I didn't realize that so many students would be enrolled through online classes, especially starting from the seventh grade.

3. Federal, state and local governments all stand behind "Distance Education." I was aware that they were supportive of it, but didn't know that they were so committed to it. It makes sense to take advantage of such a great tool such as the Internet, but is somewhat discouraging to those who can't partake in it as well.
